Chesterfield Inlet is a small Inuit community that is home to approximately 350 people, found on the northest coast of Hudson Bay, just north of Rankin Inlet. The low, rough terrain around Chesterfield Inlet accomodates many inland lakes. The community is located on a narrow coastal strip.
Chesterfield Inlet, the oldest Inuit community in Nunavut, provides its visitors with an unforgettable experience. The Chesterfield Inlet Historic Trail summarizes the rich history of the area. Many other tours are available, including activities like hiking, fishing, hunting, and whale-watching, among others. The community is served by air and by seasonal sealift. |
